E-sky FP2
My first helicopter. Not even know the mechanics of a helicopter. Modified with GY401. Then the tail motor piss me off. Cannot track the fixed pitch wooden blade. Finally, replace with Trex450XL.
Still using the Tx and the flight simulator.

Quadratwirl 旋翼飛機
My first autogyro旋翼飛機
自旋翼飛機既主旋槳係唔使摩打, 個主旋槳係有前速/ 下降時自動旋轉產生升力
所以只要前方引動便可以超短矩起降
當中力學極之深奧
Build time : 4 hours
Specification : Weight 250g + 130g 1300mAh Lipo
Towerpro 9g servo x3, Elevon mixing, Rudder
Towerpro 2409, 1500kv, 9043 prop. 25A ESC
Dihedral angle will stabalize the roll.
Gust from the back will negate the lift as it reduce the rotor movement.
Hand lauch extremely easy.
Retired due to too gusty condition in my field.

SU 27 Flanker
Trex 450
My first helicopter. Upgraded from plastic version with carbon frame.
Then metal head .....grip.....mixer arm.....swashplate....
DIY the V2 like thrust bearing main blade grip. The pitch response is more linear and accurate. Later took apart due to the thrust bearing will jam dead the cyclic servo. Somehow unknown mechanism even the grip is silky smooth. It happens 2 times and the second time is a brand new 65MG. So unlikely a coincidence.
DIY longer copper mixer washout. The slop is gone.
The tail is upgraded to a NIX tail gear box, with a smaller load (balanced metal grip) on rudder servo and larger travel. NIX tail gear box must use carbon blade to get solid tail lock.
Now with 4S and the cyclic response is magic at HS 3000rpm.
Now with 4S and the cyclic response is magic at HS 3000rpm.
Looking for hollow 5mm shaft.
Current setting:
AR6100
HS65MG ....6V
401, 9650...6V
4S 1500mA
450TH 3000kv@11T, HS 3000
DIY modified paddle 3.2g
Super Hardened Head dampener DIY from PU
NIX tail box.
CC Pheonix 35
BEC 3-5A, cheap $8 ,Without the BEC,cc 35 on board BEC will melt the heat shrink even @3s
Eagletree says 300W
Cyclic fast like hell !
Finally, it was powered with 3600kv @4s/11T
777 twin EDF toy modification
Fail maiden after modification to 3 channels. Not a good day for maiden cos' gusty monsoon.
Too hurry and the 2 ESC is not recalibrate for throttle travel. The 2 BL are not matched for thrust.
Maiden flight not successful and crash after right motor failed.
Specification: 2408 x2, 7060 GWS prop. 15A ESC x2.
BD5 Pusher Glider
BD5 is my first fiberglass body with wooden wing. Wingspan 1.3m. Weight 650g. AUW 810g.
Must add 5-10 degree downthrust angle
The elevator flap is a bit weak.
Equipped with cheap towerpro 2409 1800kv? 200W outrunner.
With APC 8x5E, the takeoff and flight is perfect.
Because of the low wing loading, it glides so great. Rolling rate is slow because of the large wing span.
Low level loop during sunset resulted in crash with broken nose and wing. Fixed and in service now. I am surprised how good the fiberglass resist heavy crash.
2008 : Finally retired after a heavy head down vertical crash resulted from fracture recevier board that killed the elevator channel.
F18 Blue Angle
Look the Blue Angle very much after a trip to Dayton Air Show USA 2006.
Now achieve airspeed of 150km/hr with 6x6 APC@4s/ 300W!
Certified death after a high dive with lost of elevator control....likely weak servo linkage rod.
Will build my third based on Align F16.............cheap and nice airfoil. Planned target 450W...200kph
Hurricane EP550
Cheap and good 3D learning machine
Equipped with Trex 600 BL and ESC, 7s1p A123 battery- Some metals parts needed to be upgraded to avoid undetectable wear and damage. The elevator lever is easy to have damage overlooked. The rotor hub will crack at the base and have larger freeplay.
- To change the front main gear to 61T as the 42T is easier to wear. Above is a 60T gear from model car. It gives a better clearance from the mian frame.
- A vertical fiber slab is added at the back of the motor mount to reduce torsional distortion of the main frame, that will destroy the main shaft gear on 3D.
- Trex 600 tail boom is added on the Hurricane. Almost same calibre but thicker and tougher.
- You can see that the uppermost main grip mixing lever has 2 holes. The outer holes give larger pitch up to 12 degree.
- The lower mixer arm also has 2 holes. The outer holes give larger aileron and elevator throw and hence faster cyclic response. But be very careful to turn the rotor manually while pulling the cyclic sticks (elevator, aileron) to 4 corners to see any binding. If you use the outer washout arm holes, it is prone to hit the other washout arms' swashplate connector. If you use the inner holes, it is prone to hit the upper washout guide 's screw. So careful reduce the swashplate mixing ratio (on transmitter) is necessary.
Trex 600
Maiden Flight
- Renew the older version tail grip with thrust bearing 3*8*2.5 . CA the screw as loctite alone has problem as the thrust bearing will locked on tightening the screw. My tail problem (locking in mid air and higher headspeed) is now gone.
- Upgraded to Z50B (800kv) and 14s1p A123, CC85HV. Throttle 88%. Headspeed 2000. Max amp 55A, average 14A, Power >2000W. Temperature after 5 min 3D. Z50- 75 oC, A123 45 oC.
Early video on stock 600L motor
