I got a 12V USB charger output to 5V USB (for palm)
Inside is a voltage regulator (switching type) @2A , part # MIK34063
There is 2 voltage monitor resistor R1 and R2
V out = 1.25 (1+R2/R1)
The default V out is 5V, R1 =10k, R2=300k
So change R2 to a 380k will result in a 6V switching BEC

Phoenix 35, 2A BEC 5V: load 1.7A -->4.4V, load 1.9A-->4.3V
DIY BEC (spec 1.5A)@6V, loading 1.6A -->5.1V. cannot deliver more than 1.7A as internal protection circuit activate.....
